Is there a WaveCheck App? |
Add any WaveCheck page to your mobile home screen and it will act like an app
(see this page
for help). There is currently no WaveCheck app. |
What is WaveCheck? |
WaveCheck is a nearshore weather station that displays real-time
wave, wind, and temperature conditions, as well as daylight and
tide information, for locations in the United States of America. |
How does WaveCheck work? |
WaveCheck queries the National
Data Buoy Center every five minutes, downloads and saves the
latest raw data, then converts and displays it for each location. |
Why was WaveCheck created? |
WaveCheck was created to display current conditions for surfers,
swimers, scuba divers, boaters, or anyone else who uses nearshore waterways. |
Why do some locations have missing info? |
Sometimes buoys transmit reports with missing data. When this happens, WaveCheck
displays whatever new data it receives, and draws "?" or "X" to indicate the
missing data. |
